“Trick or Treat?”: 7 Ways to Celebrate Halloween (At Home)!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Halloween is getting closer, and in such difficult times, it’s great to have something to look forward to. But why celebrate in just one day when you can have a whole week of fun?! With that in mind, we prepare a countdown with 7 different activities to get ready for this event – and the best thing is that you don’t need to leave the house. So let’s get spooky!

Halloween Craft Party

First things first! If you really want to rock in Halloween style you need a decoration worthy of a true haunted house. A fun and cheap way to achieve this is getting your hands dirty with some diy. Paper bats, cotton spider’s web, ghost lantern, candles and a lot of fake blood: the internet is full of creative ideas. Just let your imagination flow (with some pinterest help, of course rs).

Makeup Challenge

The extra time at home, encouraged many people to stick one’s neck out in the makeup universe. And there is no better time to put this training into practice than Halloween. You can do all types of things, the more creative the better. And why not take the opportunity to do a scary photoshoot too?

Halloween Games and Horror Stories Night

Jigsaw once said: “Lets the game begin”. Well, maybe you don´t want him to participate in this activity, but call your family and friends – even if it needs to be by video – and you guys will definitely have an amazing time together. There is a lot online games for play in remote meetings or even single player choices. But if you prefer a more traditional option, turn off the lights, grab the flashlight and start the scary tale wheel. Just beware of nightmares later…

Spooky Dinner Party

Everyone likes themed foods. Really horrifying snacks or adorable sweet monsters. The most important thing is to have your personality with a Halloween touch. The fun starts with preparation and goes on until it’s dinner time. Yummy, it looks scaryly delicious!

Horror Movie Night

This old but gold Halloween classic couldn’t be missing! Horror movies are a must at this time of year. Even the most fearful people usually face the screens monsters on October 31st. The bravest can choose to go through this experience alone, but the tip is to combine with friends to watch the same movie at the same time and go commenting by text message or video call. Have you already prepared your list of horror movies to marathon all night long?

Best Halloween Costume

Another idea that can be done remotely is an online costume contest. You can buy yours online or even diy at home. Than, your group just needs to make a video call and rock the catwalk – or should I say the bedroom floor? Together, you choose who did it better and can decide whether or not to have a prize. The coolest thing is to put your creativity to work and live your best halloween fantasy!

Halloween Dance and karaoke Party

Last but not least, it’s time to celebrate with lots of music and dancing! Decorate the living room, move the furniture aside, dress up your and prepare the karaoke. Fun is guaranteed with or without company. Sing out loud and dance as if no one but the phantoms could see you!

Halloween only happens once a year, so whether it’s eating a scary snack or rocking an artistic makeup, just enjoy this fun-filled night.

Happy Halloween everybody!
