Why We Love CWRU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Case chapter.

Most students here at CWRU can agree that our school is special, and that the experiences we’ve had here could never be replicated elsewhere. Sure, there are some things we complain about: the cold, the rigorous classes, the sometimes nerdy atmosphere, and the list continues. But when it comes down to it, we have lots of reasons to love our community and our university. Her Campus Case Western asked students to answer one very easy question: “What has been the most enjoyable part about being a CWRU student so far?” The answers served as a reminder that we’re right where we need to be:

“What I enjoy most about being a Case student is the independence and confidence I have gained. I have had the chance to explore many subjects, meet a lot of new people, and begin to discover what means the most to me.”

“Without a doubt the best part of CWRU is the people. Sure, sometimes they drive me batty, but at the end of the day it amazes me how this community can come together. It’s always felt like a family to me.”

“There are so many opportunities to attend concerts and listen to live music, from the Fall Concert and Springfest, to Spot Nights every week, and concerts in the area! I’m hugely into music and I never, ever feel deprived.”

“Greek life is healthy and the Greek community is so accepting and welcoming.”

“I enjoy being involved on campus and meeting different people through my involvements. I also love to see the spirit of the school through the events that are put on.”

“I feel like I’m surrounded by so many smart people, and it really motivates me.”

“Finding friends that I want to keep forever.”

“I love that fact that I get to meet so many different types of people on one campus.  It’s so interesting being able to learn new things from other students who are different than you are.”

“I enjoy being at CWRU because there are endless opportunities to get involved in incredible extracurriculars and if you feel passionately about something that is not already offered then it is easy to start something new and gain support from the community.”

“The most enjoyable part about being a CWRU student for me has been joining the Greek community! I love the service opportunities and all of the great people that I have met!”

“The best part about my experience at CWRU has been all the people I have met. I have the best support system I have ever had including my sorority, my nursing class and all the rest of my friends and family.”

Our chipotle’s food tastes extra good because you have to wait a really long time before you finally get it.”

“I love the CWRU atmosphere. Everyone is so involved on campus and engaged in learning.”

“I like being an athlete here because our athletic community is so hard working and talented, yet we also share a common desire to make good grades and work hard in the classroom as well.”

“The adrenaline rush you get to do your lab when you realize it’s due in 56mins!”

“Meeting new people from all around the world. It it so much fun to make new friends and learn about so many cultures.”

At CWRU, the opportunities are endless! Whether you’re looking for research, jobs, fun, a family,  friends– whatever, you’ll find it here.”

“I’ve loved being exposed to all types of diversity in students, including racial and academic diversity alike. All of my best friends now bring something new and different to my life, which I couldn’t imagine at any other college.”

“I enjoy the small humanities program of well taught classes and discussions. The classes can connect to each other and give me a better understanding of the material as a whole.”

“I like that I’ve been able to get research experience in my field and work closely with professors!”

“Seeking out and pursuing new challenges, feeling great about myself when I accomplish my goals, and then meeting someone with their own impressive goals and accomplishments.”
