When you get to know Victoria Trent, you realize that, not only is she stunning, but she is also extremely intelligent and talented. Many of her talents including dancing, acting, and singing will be showcased in the upcoming play, Spring Awakening. Join me in getting to know her character and production better, and follow Victoria on this amazing journey.
1) What is this play about?
Spring Awakening is a coming of age musical that follows a group of young teens through a time of discovering themselves, forming relationships with others, and struggling with the structure of society. The story is based on a very controversial German play. It has great messages to which most people can relate!
2) What character do you play?
I play the character of Thea, who learns a lot about life through the intense experiences of her close friends and classmates.
3) If you could summarize your experience in one word, what would it be? Why?
If I could describe my experience in one word, it would be exhilarating. If you have ever been in a musical, you are familiar with the rush that performing gives you. That is how I feel when we are in performance-mode, especially as things are coming together more beautifully with each rehearsal. It has also been really exciting to get back into musical theater, after a year’s break!
4) What has been difficult about Spring Awakening?
If I had to choose something that has been difficult about Spring Awakening, it would be playing a character who is an innocent and naive young teenager during the scenes but switching into a more modern version of my character with heightened emotions during the songs.
5) Would you suggest others to try out for a play, as you have?
I would highly encourage others to audition for musicals and plays here at Case if they are interested. It truly is an amazing experience, and I can assure you that you will make some awesome new friends along the way! I love the Spring Awakening family, and everyone involved is so welcoming!
