Sea Moss — is it worth the hype?

For the past few months or so, all I’ve been seeing are TikToks talking about sea moss, which is supposed to be really good for your overall health. According to Discovery Magazine, the benefits of this product is extensive. Here are some that are listed:

  • Healing your gut
  • Reducing risks of chronic illnesses
  • Lowering cholesterol
  • Promoting weight loss
  • Assisting with healthier skin
  • Boosts immunity
  • Aid in workout recovery
  • Increased energy

I decided to try it for a month and here are my thoughts:

I purchased the raw form from St. Lucia. The research I did on this suggested ensuring you purchase the sea moss from a proper source. I’d take two tablespoons per day. I’m not going to lie… it tastes gross! The texture is slimy and there is a strong fishy taste to it. Ensure you have a chase nearby.

Overall, I’ve been feeling more energized after taking it consistently. I was really happy about this result. It gets even better though — you can also use this on your face as a mask, too. When I tell you, my skin has never been more glowy — I’m not lying. I was shocked. By the third use, my face felt so moisturized and it looked like I already prepped my face with my Charlotte Tilbury Flawless filter? Incredible!

But my favourite result was how great my stomach felt. This is coming from a girl with lots of stomach problems. It was so nice to just feel better overall on the inside and outside.

Although I’ve only been taking the Sea Moss for a month, I’ve had great results. I plan to continue taking it and I’m for sure going to be recommending it to all the people in my life!
