In honour of the end of our term as execs on Her Campus Carleton, we’ve all reminisced on our favourite moments during our time with the chapter.
Conducting Interviews – Aria Mann
My favourite memory at Her Campus Carleton this year was conducting interviews for the first time. I got to do a one-on-one interview and then, for another article, a quicker style of interviewing with lots of different students. It was a bit nerve-wracking the first time to figure out how to lead the students through the interviews, how to choose questions, and how to choose what to include or cut from the final article. But like every other skill, it can only come with practice! Most of all, it was just really fun to be able to just talk to people about a) important resource information on campus or b) nonsensical debate topics I made up (depending on the article)!
Basically Everything – LEILA MOHABEER-ORTIZ
When I first joined HC Carleton last year I was immediately greeted by such a friendly and amazing team. This year has gone by so incredibly fast, and it’s hard to pinpoint one exact memory that stands out as my favourite because I’ve loved my time as a whole. Stand-out moments are last year’s year-end dinner, the first semester’s writing workshop, and just the general meetings. The happiness I get from this great team makes every memory my favourite.
HCC Editorial Worksop – JENNA LEGGE
Where did the year go? I can’t believe this academic year is already over! My favourite Her Campus Carleton memory from this year is either attending the Carleton Club Expo or the HCC editorial workshop. It was so exciting to attend in-person events (finally) and get to meet so many HCC members and writers for the first time face-to-face! Getting to see and interact with such an amazing group of driven and powerful people is definitely the best part of Her Campus, and I’m so lucky I got to work with you all as an associate editor this year!
Club expo – RIANNA LIM
My fav HC Carleton moment was at this year’s Carleton club expo when I got to meet so many students! It was super fun crafting our poster board with our events team and speaking to dozens and dozens of students about what we do at Her Campus, and many of them went on to become writers and interns for us! The Carleton club expo was a whirlwind of a day, but it was really neat to have the opportunity to spread the word about HCCarleton to incoming students looking to join a club.
Getting Awesome Writers – RACHEL FISET
Oh my, oh my – is the year finishing already? My favourite moment with HCC has been the influx of amazing writers we gained at the beginning of the year. It was so great seeing the passion and excitement writers had when pitching. It’s been such a pleasure being n associate editor and senior editor for the team and I’ll cherish the memories I’ve been able to make with everyone here!
