It’s officially fall, which for me means that it’s time for a wardrobe revamp! Fall, hands down, ranks high on my list of favourite seasons for fashion as the weather offers incredible versatility in outfit choices. This season invites creativity, and I have compiled a list of wardrobe essentials and tips that never fail to pique my fashion interests, infusing a dash of personality into my fall ensembles. Let’s embark on this fashion journey!

1. Colour palette

Beginning with the absolute basics, the easiest way to do so is to play with the colour palette. During this time of the year, I gravitate towards warmer, muted tones—various hues of yellow, orange, and red. But, do not overlook cooler tones such as deep purples and teals to balance your palette. These hues add a rich and earthy tone that reflects the ambiance of the season. Experiment with different colours and you just might find yourself a new look!

2. Texture

I absolutely love the use of textures in my wardrobe. Something as simple as a ribbed top can make all the difference in an outfit. For the fall, I especially enjoy textures such as corduroy, velvet, knitwear, and quilted fabrics. On top of keeping you warm, these textures add dimension and a little bit of enhancement that will take your outfit to the next level.

3. Layering & proportions

I find that layering can add visual interest and a little more dimension to an outfit. The extra layers are also a bonus on days that are more breezy and cooler. You can adapt your outfit to different weather conditions depending on the day. You can also play with sizing and proportions in order to create a balanced look. For instance, when I pair loose pants with a fitted top, I feel I’ve added a sense of harmony to the outfit.

4. Accessories

Accessories are a must when completing an outfit. From hats and bags to scarves and jewellery, there is a variety of accessories to choose from when styling an outfit. I personally opt for convenience when it comes to accessories. For example, a medium-sized crossbody bag is both practical and fashionable for daily use. Scarves also double for warmth and style. They are incredibly versatile as you can experiment with knots, drape styles, textures, colours and layers all while keeping you warm. A combination of these elements will certainly add a boost to your wardrobe this season.

Remember, fashion is a form of self-expression. While these tips may be helpful, try to infuse your unique personality and style into your outfits. Experiment with colours, textures, and accessories, but most importantly, have fun curating your fall wardrobe!
