HC Cal State LA: What made you choose CSULA?

Daniel: I got into the Music Program here. It’s a good program that will help me improve as a musician.

 

HC Cal State LA: What does your daily routine look like?

Daniel: I wake up, get ready, take on traffic, look for parking, go to my morning classes, practice the trombone and the euphonium, eat, go to class and not fall asleep. Then more practice, more class, rush to Garfield High School and teach the marching band until 9pm, go home and do homework.

 

HC Cal State LA: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Daniel: In 5 years, I’ll be out of school! I want to be an assistant band director, something that will help with my future in teaching.

 

HC Cal State LA: What qualities do you look for in a significant other?

Daniel: Great smile, beautiful hair, humorous personality, spontaneous, really open, adventurous, smart, gorgeous face like “congrats on your face!” Sorry for rambling, I’m just thinking about my girlfriend…

 

HC Cal State LA: What is your favorite place in the city?

Daniel: Huntington Beach Harbour, which is still in LA County.

 

HC Cal State LA: What hobbies do you have outside of your major?

Daniel: I’m in a band called the Black Beacon Sound. I’m the lead singer and guitarist. I also love video games, making my own music, and hanging out with friends.

 

HC Cal State LA: Do you have a favorite band or a favorite movie?

Daniel: I like Reign of Kindo (band) or Forrest Gump (movie).

 

HC Cal State LA: Do you have any pets?

Daniel: One dog and 57 birds!
