A Saturday to Remember: Sunrise at Folly Beach

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

Charleston is full of so many sights to see and romantic places to go. If there is one thing everyone needs to do in Charleston, it is to watch the sunrise on Folly Beach. Today reluctantly, my friends convinced me to go watch the sunrise and it was the best decision I could have made.

Waking up at 5 in the morning is not exactly ideal, but well worth it. After driving to Folly, we walked the beach a couple of times and just waited for the sun to come up. Once the sun started to rise, it took no time at all. Hundreds of pictures later, I had finally watched a complete sunrise on the beach.

The Black Magic Cafe was our next stop for breakfast. Black Magic Cafe has a great selection of fresh, healthy, and vegetarian choices of food and drinks. From french toast made from croissants, to fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, Black Magic Cafe has it all! It is the perfect little cafe, located at the end of Folly Road.

Saturday morning was the most beautiful experience I’ve had so far in Charleston. The sunrise over Folly is something everyone should experience. There were couples galore and dogs running in the ocean. It looked like a scene from a movie, and couldn’t have been any better!
