The All Night Struggle of Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

You already tried studying with friends, but you didn’t exactly get anything done…

So you decide to take the journey alone.

But then you realize:

So you try to be productive and make a to do list to cancel out your hours and hours of procrastination.

Which reminds you how much work you actually have to get done before the sun comes up.

But you’re ok! YOU CAN DO THIS!

*reads study guide* Be familiar with all text book content from chapters 1-72 and all notes from lectures. Oh, ok.

Open your notes.

Nothing can stop you now!

In fact, you’ve convinced yourself that YOU LOVE STUDYING!

But then –

So you make a cup of coffee…

…and eat your feelings.

Now that you’re re-energized, you try to get back to it.

But suddenly everything becomes a distraction

And you begin pondering all the world’s greatest issues.

Stop.  Pull yourself together!

Ok, seriously though – it’s 3am and you still have half a semester’s worth of material to study.

Tweet about how you’re still awake.

Back to studying.

5 minutes later: Tweet about how much you hate everything – especially finals.

Back to studying.

30 minutes later: cry.

Study some more.

An hour later: you’re too tired to make sense of words any more.

But you push forward anyway.

Another hour passes, and the sun is up. YOU MADE IT!

Now there’s just enough time to squeeze in a power nap before your 8am final.

Wake up, grab some coffee and your lucky pencil, and pray that the Exam Gods are with you today.
