How to Bring a Little Magick Into Your Life Everyday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C Mich chapter.

Crystals!

Whether you wear them, keep them in your pocket, use a crystal water bottle, or keep them around your room, crystals are a beautiful and easy way to make your life more magickal. Each crystal has a function and a certain energy that it brings–researching the different uses can be fun!

If you want something relaxing, try Amethyst or Blue lace agate.

For mental clarity use Fluorite or citrine

To keep you safe while you travel (i.e. walking through campus at night) try malachite, moonstone, smokey quartz or aquamarine.

There’s thousands of crystals for pretty much every function you could need. Remember when picking out a crystal to go with your gut! Whatever attracts you, there’s probably a reason why, so choose the one you feel the most attraction to.

Grow a mini garden

Get some potted plants. Plants are beautiful and fun to take care of. They brighten up a room and add some fresh air and good energy. Growing herbs is a great way to make your space smell incredible, plus you can dry the herbs and use them in tea, cooking or homemade potpourri.

Adding homegrown herbs into your food acts as a protection from negativity. Your nutrition was provided by something you grew and nurtured and having that bit of caring in your meal or morning tea can impact your day!

Fragrance

Burning incense or a candle can make anything relaxing and magickal. I normally burn incense when I clean so I’m cleansing my energy while cleaning my space.

Take the time during a thunderstorm, light a candle, watch and listen. It’s amazing how rejuvenating such a simple thing can be!

If you live in a place that doesn’t allow open flame then try a diffuser and essential oils, maybe get some potpourri for your desk or under your pillow, even an air freshener can be magickal.

Go Hiking

Get away from hectic life and enjoy nature. Bring some friends along or go by yourself. Taking a break to enjoy nature can be rejuvenating and peaceful, something we all need.

Do some research and find some hiking trails or a nature center near you. If there isn’t anything around you then maybe go a little further and do an overnight backpacking trip! If you want something a little more simple, find a good tree and do some studying or read. There are a thousand ways to go out and enjoy nature so find what you enjoy the most!

Be thankful

Take some time to appreciate what you have. Take a walk outside and take in the things around you like fresh air and all the different trees. Think about the things in your life that you’re lucky to have like food, a bed, and friends. Taking time to be grateful for what you have makes them more special and it gives you a positive outlook on life.

Being appreciative is possibly the most magickal thing you can do with your time and in a world with too much going on, it’s the simplest.
