With all this spare time, you might be able to become that friend who listens to podcasts. If you need some ideas of where to start, here are some of my favorite podcasts that lift my spirits despite the stress of quarantine.
- Psychobabble
-
with Tyler Oakley & Korey Kuhl
This podcast is honestly so funny and has remained in my rotation despite having fallen out of my intense youtube fandom phase. It always makes me laugh and they manage to distract from the craziness going on in the world right now.
- Lovett or Leave It
-
with Jon Lovett
This is a political podcast, and they do talk about COVID19 and other current events, but they put a comedic spin on everything. They also help make politics a little more accessable, if in the past you’ve struggled to get involved. They deffinitely have a liberal lean, though, if that is something you are dissinterested in.
- Tiny Meat Gang
-
with Noel Miller & Cody Ko
If you’re seeking true distraction, this vulgar and hilarious podcast will do the trick. I literally can’t be sad when I listen to it. AND…they don’t talk about cornoavirus.
- Science Friday
-
from WNYC
Leaning more toward the educational side, SciFri is a must for anyone trying to expand their mind a little durring this coronacation. It’s completely accessable and informative, and the guy’s voice is also 10/10 soothing.
- nofilmschool
-
NFS co.
Aspiring film maker? Movie buff? This is the podcast for you. It gives great (and attainable!!) advice and is full of genuinely interesting conversations.
- Rookie
-
Rookie Mag
Perfect for the Her Campus Girl, Rookie is empowering and inspirational. With influention women frequently featured on the podcast, you are sure to feel uplifted and excited about your future. My personal favorite eposide is the one featuring actress Winona Rider.
- Getting Curious
-
with Johnathan Van Ness
This icon from hit Netflix show “Queer Eye” is as funny over audio as he is on the screen. With insightful questions and equally entertaining answers, you’re sure to get hooked.
- Sleep With Me
-
Having trouble sleeping? This is your fix. As a chronic insomniac myself, I can vouch for it’s efficacy. It’s essentially this guy telling rambling bedtime storries until you fall asleep. And it’s great. You just gotta hear it to understand.
