Now that it’s September, it’s about time to get into the fall spirit in upstate New York! If you’re looking to go out and enjoy the season, here are five festive places around Buffalo!

1: Smith’s Orchard Cider Mill

Apple picking is one of my personal favorite things to do in the fall, and there are plenty of orchards around the city. Smith’s is one of the most popular in the area, with the added bonus of delicious cider slushies and cider donuts!

2: Great Pumpkin Farm

Pumpkin patches are another fall bucket list essential (and an iconic part of the classic Charlie Brown Halloween special). The Great Pumpkin Farm has pumpkins piled absolutely everywhere, so you’re bound to find one to take home. Doesn’t hurt that it’s a good backdrop for instagram pictures too.

3: Sunflowers of Sanborn NY

Speaking of instagram, you have probably seen most of the girls you know posting pictures in huge fields of sunflowers. The one best known in Buffalo is Sunflowers of Sanborn! On a sunny day, the walk through the field is absolutely beautiful, and you can even take some sunflowers home to brighten your day.

4: Ellicottville

Known for being a ski resort in the winter, Ellicottville offers a beautiful look at the colorful trees throughout the fall. You can ride the ski lifts up through the mountains and check out the gorgeous views!

5: A Buffalo Bills Game

Nothing says fall quite like football season! Whether you want to pay for the actual tickets or just hit up a tailgate, watching the Buffalo Bills is basically a required part of living in WNY! Just try not to hurt yourself if you break a table.
