Not sure if she’s a Friend or Foe?! Sabby to the Rescue!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

I was out at a Sorority party last week.  The party was great and I had so much fun meeting all the girls I hope will become my sisters but the only problem was my best friend ditched me!  We arrived at the party together and promised we would not leave without one another but she ended up leaving early with a Rugby player for our school’s team and I slept on the couch.  I was angry since I did not know many people at the party and she left me stranded!  She apologized the next morning and said she thought she would come back but the Rugby player needed his sleep for practice and she just spent the night at his dorm.  She promised me she would make it up to me so I gave her a chance.  We set up a dinner date at our favorite restaurant and I arrived early, as usual, and waited for her.  Twenty minutes of waiting, I receive a text that says she forgot our date and cannot make it due to “prior engagements”.  I was even angrier and did not text her back since that day.  She has tried to apologize but she has done this sort of thing too many times for me to easily forgive her.  I love her and she is my best friend but she keeps disappointing me.  What should I do?

Sorry to hear about your B.F.F ditching you, that is never cool.  What you have to do is confront her and do the talking while she listens.  Yes, she may have a ton of apologies but that will not add up unless she comes through.  Tell her exactly how she is making you feel and do not skip any details.  Perhaps you two need a friendship break so she can truly appreciate the good friend she has in front of her instead of pushing you to the side.  Your friend needs to start caring about your feelings as well rather than her own.  Like I said, talk to her and make sure she realizes that if she does not start shaping up, you are shipping out!

Good luck!
