This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

This is Us premiered this fall on NBC and has become a very popular show. You probably know someone who watches it every Tuesday, hopefully with a box of tissues nearby. It is a comedy-drama (although, some would say it’s just drama with moments of laughter here and there) that features four storylines of people who lives are intertwined. You have new parents Rebecca and Jack, who are trying to raise three kids. There are the twins Kevin and Kate, who are going through problems while still trying to be there for each other. And then, you have Randall who recently got found his biological father. If that’s not enough to make you start binge-watching it, the. here are 10 other reasons.

1. It covers a range of topics, including adoption, family, obesity, love, sibling rivalry, not feeling like you belong, race, and finding yourself.

2. The way the characters are intertwined with each other makes for great episodes and plot lines

3. It’s a very diverse cast

4. It brings to light problems that many people in this world are facing. It doesn’t sugarcoat anything and keeps a realistic approach.

5. The acting is phenomenal

6. More than likely, this show will be around forever and you might as well get started now while it’s still in it’s first season.

7. It tugs at your heart and makes you feel good while watching it

8. Randall’s daughters are too adorable

9. There is an amazing twist at the end of the pilot episode that is guaranteed to make your jaw drop.

10. It shows all these different types of love (e.g. new, old, sibling, parent and child, self) that anyone can relate to.
