Although the warmer weather is more than welcome in Boston, 45 degrees can be a kind of awkward temperature. It’s not cold enough to bundle up beneath sweaters, coats, and gloves, but it’s not warm enough to break out the shorts and tank tops.

Stepping outside in this weather can feel chilly at first, but once you’re on your walk or run to class you will heat up. So make sure not to wear your huge winter coat anymore–you don’t want to feel sweaty by the time you get to class! Instead, try lighter jackets and wind breakers.

Fleece-lined leggings and thick jeans are no longer necessary, and outfits can get slightly more creative when the temperature is nicer. Take advantage of this and try switching it up by wearing high socks or tights with a skirt or sweater dress.

Layering is key. It can get really cold in the shade, but if the sun is directly shining on you, it can get uncomfortably hot. Make sure to layer clothing so that you never feel freezing cold or burning hot. Try a light long-sleeved shirt or flannel with a vest or jacket.

As for shoes, ditch the Uggs and heavy snow boots. Converse, combat boots, or little booties are all great “go-to” footwear for class or a midday stroll.

Just make sure whatever you’re wearing you feel comfortable. Winter is coming ending, so get excited for full-on spring weather and outfit options!
