Underrated Kids Halloween Movies You Must Watch This Spooky Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

This Halloween, practically the only things you can do are stay in with your roomies (hopefully dressed up), eat loads of candy, and watch spooky movies! While movies like Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus are seasonal classics, they can get a bit old when you watch them year after year. There are so many other movies you can stream. Even if you already watched them when you were 8 years old, they’ll feel nostalgic but mostly fresh now!

Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2

Although they are not centered around Halloween, these live-action movies will still put you in the spooky spirit. They’re also a great place to draw costume inspiration, whether you’re dressing up like a monster or a member of the Mystery Inc. gang! If you’re up for it, you can even watch the new Scoob! movie or the old-school animated movies and TV episodes.

Twitches and Twitches Too

What’s better than twin witches, especially when they’re Tia and Tamera Mowry? Even though these movies are childhood staples, they actually take place when the characters are 21 and in college, which makes them a bit more relevant!

The Halloweentown Sequels

Don’t just watch the original movie! There is no doubt that the first one is the best, but the second, third, and even the fourth (despite the actress change) still hold up! Bring yourself back to the youthful days of Halloweentown movie marathons on Disney Channel.

The Addams Family

The Addams Family has a nostalgic charm and is the perfect amount of scary without actually being considered a scary movie. Dress up as Wednesday Addams, grab your ghoulfriends, and reminisce while watching this movie.

 The Haunted Mansion

You may not be able to go to Disney World and experience one of the best rides ever created at the moment, but you can watch the movie based on it!

If you find yourself bored on Halloween and tired of watching the typical movies, give one of these a try. Each one is guaranteed to lift your spooky spirits and make you feel like a kid again!
