Top Ten Movies To Watch On A Snow Day

With all of the crazy snow that has fallen recently in the Northeast, there have been a lot of snow days. Snow days are some of the best days because school is out. But they can get pretty boring! You can’t go outside and do things and you usually just end up sitting around at home. Here’s the top ten movies you should watch on your snow day in to make it interesting!

10. Home Alone

This is a fabulous movie to watch on a snow day. The story of a boy who gets left at home while his family goes on vacation. It’s holiday themed and hilarious! Plus, you can never watch Home Alone enough times!

 

9. Mean Girls 

Because we know that you can never see Mean Girls enough. Do we really even need to explain why this is on the list? If you love Lindsay Lohan in her prime and watching one of the most quotable movies of all time, this is the movie for you. 

 

8. The Shining

When you feel like you’ve been stuck inside because of snow for far too long, watch this movie! If you’re in the mood for something a little bit scary, get your warm blankets ready to hide underneath and pop on this flick!

 

7. Frozen

This is the perfect snow-themed movie. The story of two sisters who overcome all else because they love one another. It’s a perfect Disney movie to lighten up your day. It will have you singing along in no time!

 

6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie, about a couple who tries to erase each other from their memories, is a fantastic love story to cuddle up to on a snow day. If you want a good movie to watch with your boyfriend or girlfriend, this is a good one to watch with some hot cocoa and popcorn. 

 

5. Safety Not Guaranteed 

This amazing movie is a quirky sci-fi story about a newspaper ad that leads to so much more. If you love Aubrey Plaza in Parks and Recreation, this movie will only make you love her more!

 

4. The To Do List

Another movie starring Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza. This movie is absolutely hilarious. If you need a chick flick or you want to watch a great movie with your friends, this is the movie for you. This comedy is about a girl who has a very special list of things she wants to do before she goes to college. If you’re the person who talks about how much they love the 90s, you should definitely watch this movie. 

 

3. The Grand Budapest Hotel 

If you’re a Wes Anderson fan then you should absolutely see this movie. This is a phenomenal film about a hotel and its quirky employees. The movie has an incredible story that never gets old and will keep you interested and entertained throughout your snow day!

 

2. Love Actually 

This romantic comedy is an absolute must-see. It tells the story of a number of different couples and their struggles and realities with one another. The movie is fascinating and romantic. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, and everything in between. 

 

1. Fried Green Tomatoes

This movie is a classic. It is set in the rural South during very hard times and it tells the story of a tiny town. This is a beautiful movie you can watch with anyone. The only thing bad about this movie is that it will make you hungry!
