Top 5 Romantic Spots on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The autumn months are truly the most romantic on campus. From sexy knee-high boots and cuddly oversized sweaters, to having an excuse to share a hot chocolate or a steaming slice of pumpkin-anything, fall continues to dazzle us all. And now that snuggle season is fully upon us, it seems only natural to want to pinpoint those heart-quickening hand-holding eyelash-fluttering spots on campus.

1. The Esplanade

We all knew this one was coming. Water stretched for as far as, well, Cambridge. Docks after every long stretch of pavement. Bring a picnic here for you and your significant other, lover, roommate, or best friend and they will thank you.

2. Nickerson Field After Dark

If you have ever lived in west campus, you would know that around 11:00 p.m. the lights go out on Nickerson field. Go on, explore—but keep it PG.

3. The Top of Stuvi I or II

Sure there are a lot of people “studying” here typically, but come early in the morning with some brunch or late on a Saturday night while everyone is bar hopping, and you have a personalized scenic view.

4. The Walk Across the BU Bridge

I’m not referring to the walk you do every day to class from west to east or east to west. I’m telling you to head north, over the bridge. Rent a bike (while you still can) for the day and bike over this bridge if you are feeling a bit adventurous.

5. The Grassy Spot in Front of Hillel

It seems silly, but aside from the crowded BU beach, this is one of the best (and less populated) green spots on campus. There are more than a few benches to choose from, or you can spread out under one of the trees, leaning into your partner.

No matter where you end up walking, biking, sitting, or picnicking on campus, you have to remember that it is not where you are but who you are with. College years are the most romantic years of our lives, because of the intimate relationships we create as we all discover who we have yet to become.
