Summer 2012 Accessories Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It’s officially starting to feel like summer in Boston, and no summer outfit is complete without the perfect accessories. With temperatures rising, it’s time to shed those layers and add tons of jewelry and accessories to your summer wardrobe. The warm weather is the perfect time to try out new trends and new prints. If you’re not ready to totally change up your look, try those new style ideas in small ways such as in your accessories.

Over the summer, let your jewelry do the talking. Pick up some bold statement pieces like bib necklaces, beaded chains, and neon geometric necklaces all that are transitional from day to night.

Sunglasses are a must. Have some fun with your sunglasses and pick a shape you may not have thought of before. Bold color sunglasses are always fun and shapes like cat eye, or Lennon style glasses, or whichever style you like will make your summer outfit unique.

Every summer outfit should finish with a great pair of sandals. Let your feet free with either wedges or flats but keep your toes open with a colorful pedicure. Chunky heels are big for this summer, so try those instead of a wedge. Don’t be afraid to rock neon on your feet, they will totally complete your look!
