Positive Thinking for the Best Semester EVER!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Welcome back for spring semester of 2015! Seniors, this is your last semester of undergrad. Freshmen, you now have a better grip on life at BU. And sophomores and juniors, well, you just keep being amazing and enjoying your time here.

Getting back into the swing of things can be hard after a month-long break, especially with frigid temperatures and feet of snow outside. But don’t let yourself get down! This can be your best semester ever (even if it’s not your ideal situation).

You just need to think positive because as Mahatma Gandhi stated,

“Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.

Keep your words positive, because your words become your behavior.

Keep your behavior positive, because your behavior becomes your habits.

Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values.

Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.”

To get you started, try seeing your semester as if it were the most ideal situation—I’ve written 10 points to begin. Declare these statements loudly like a mantra and you’ll start to embody Gandhi’s words.

  1. I have the best classes ever!
  2. All of my professors and teaching faculty are amazing!
  3. My class schedule is perfect!
  4. I will never ever need to be stressed!
  5. I have a terrific plan to get me through this semester!
  6. I have the best friends ever who care about me and have my back!
  7. My activities are so much fun and I love them!
  8. I could not ask for a better job with a better boss and a better schedule!
  9. I make the best use of my time because it is valuable and I am valuable!
  10. And most importantly, I BELIEVE IN MYSELF!

And check out these other positive thoughts that apply to all aspects of your life—take one and pass it on!
