Oscar Outfits & How to Incorporate them in your Everyday Look

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Who can think of anything more glamorous than the Oscars? While the night might be for honoring some of the best movies of the past year, the dresses on the red carpet may also be important for some collegiettes. However, while dreaming might be as close to the read carpet as one might get, there are still ways to incorporate the styles of the stars into one’s wardrobe.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow

Paltrow’s white-on-white ensemble was not only glamorous; it also might have kept her a bit warmer than the other stars!
While you might want to wait for a warm summer night (and a nice tan) to do a white dress with a white caplet ensemble, this look can still be achieved with some winter-white pants.

2. Viola Davis

In a bold emerald dress accentuated with sparkles, Davis shined (even without an Oscar).
While this color might be loud, you can slowly incorporate it into your wardrobe with a pair or earrings, or just a pair of skinny jeans. Don’t forget a silver cuff! A cuff is versatile and will give a ‘tude to any outfit.

3. Kristen Wiig

Don’t read this the wrong way, but I wanted to play with Wiig’s dress. Look at the texture in those feathers! Play up with neutral look with texture in one part of the outfit, be it a ring or a skirt.
Although Wiig had a beautiful neckline, don’t be afraid to add your own touch, it is now your outfit after all! If it were I, I would add a string of pearls to touch off this classy ensemble. You can’t go wrong with a string of pearls!
