Clean beauty has been all the rage lately, but it’s no passing fad. Think about all the products you use and put on your face on a daily basis. You wouldn’t eat something with damaging ingredients (occasional junk food excluded), so why treat your skin any differently? These 5 clean beauty brands are free of harsh parabens, and many of these companies are also vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. So, whether it’s time to switch up your beauty routine or replace an old favorite, consider a clean beauty alternative!

Ilia

I love Ilia because their packaging is gorgeous, simple, and minimalistic. Not to mention, the actual product itself is essential to a dewy glow. My favorites from this brand are the Multi-Stick and the Super Serum Skin Tint, which has a diverse range of shades and SPF 40! Ilia products bring out your natural beauty, apply very easily, and are perfect for a simple everyday look.

BITE Beauty

BITE Beauty is a well-known clean beauty brand that has been sold at Sephora for years. They reformulated and repackaged their products a little while ago, and the quality has only increased! BITE is particularly awesome because they use natural ingredients like fruits, nectars, and superfoods in their lipsticks. Lip products are BITE Beauty’s crème de la crème, and the brand even launched a virtual Lip Lab on their website that mimics the D-I-Y experience you can find in their NYC store location.

RMS

RMS Beauty has been on my radar for a few years now, ever since Emma Watson gave their Living Luminizer a rave review. And let me tell you, RMS lives up to the hype! Their all-natural makeup and skincare lines include a wide range of products— from beauty oil to cream foundation to raw coconut cream. But the Luminizer remains my RMS Beauty favorite and I’ve even gifted it to friends on their birthdays!

OSEA

OSEA Malibu is a skincare line that is relatively new to me, but has quickly become my absolute favorite! I’m not joking when I say I’m officially hooked. My skincare routine consists of only OSEA products. The Ocean Cleanser, Essential Corrective Complex, and Atmosphere Protection Cream are perfect for day and night, so there’s no need to switch up products and spend even more $$. OSEA really stands out to me as an ethical and sustainable company with an emphasis on being a family-owned business. If you’ll let me share my nerdy side for a second, let me tell you that OSEA Malibu was actually the first company to sign The Compact for Global Production of Safe Health and Beauty Products initiative back in 2002. I’m always excited to support their company and I love to display the beautiful glass OSEA bottles on my vanity. P.S. You can now find OSEA at Ulta and take advantage of their amazing rewards program while you shop!

Tarte

Tarte is a clean beauty brand that has become “mainstream.” I think a lot of people purchase Tarte Cosmetics without even realizing that all Tarte products are formulated without parabens, sulfates, and the like. Some of my Tarte must-haves are the high coverage Shape Tape concealer, Color Splash lipstick in salt lyfe (I accidentally bought two at Sephora because it’s seriously the perfect mauve shade!), and their lesser-known Maracuja Tinted Hydrator. You can find Tarte at most retailers on the more reasonable side of high-end beauty prices.

These are a few of my favorite clean beauty brands that I will consistently recommend to everyone. Hopefully, you’ll try them too!
