How Do I Wear That Trend?: Embellished Clothing

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

This season, your basic plain t-shirts just won’t do! Amp up your wardrobe with bejeweled clothing (and no, I don’t mean breaking out The Bedazzler!) but with blouses and dresses with crystals, gems, and even pearl appliqué.

1. Accessories
If you don’t want to splurge on buying all new clothes for fall, try embellished bracelets and collar necklaces! This is the easiest way to switch up your wardrobe for fall without buying new clothes!
Tshirt: Forever21 ($8.80), Blue Collar: Asos ($31), Gold Collar: Forever21 ($6.80), All Bracelets: Forever21

2. Jeweled Collars
If you want to keep the jewels to a minimum try a dress or blouse with embellishments on the collar (if you haven’t noticed collars are IN!). Don’t be afraid to mix trends by pairing jeweled collars and peplum shirts.
Dress: H&M ($48), White Peplum Top: Zara ($60), Sweater: J. Crew ($178)

3. Embellished Shirts
Make this into a wearable daytime look by keeping the rest of the outfit simple. Pair the blouses with dark skinny jeans and some ankle boots.
Black Top: Top Shop ($80), Sequined Top: Top Shop ($96), Jeans: Forever21 ($20), Ankle Boots: Dorothy Perkins ($110)

4. Embellished Skirts
Wear a sparkly skirt with sequins or pearls with a chunky knit sweater. Add a collared shirt underneath the sweater to make it more casual for school.
Tan Pullover: J. Crew ($80), Grey Pullover: J. Crew ($75), Black Skirt: Zara ($129), Sequin Skirt: H&M ($57)
