Our newest campus celeb is freshman Kaley Roberts, a TV production major with a broadcast journalism minor. She may have slipped under your radar these first few weeks, but that won’t last for long, because Kaley is the newest member of COMlife.
Coming from the small town of Niantic, Connecticut, Kaley knew she was ready for a change of pace when it came to applying to college. For this reason, she only applied to big city schools and she couldn’t be happier with her decision.
As a Film and TV major, she’s never been camera shy. In fact, COMlife isn’t her YouTube debut. In high school, Kaley and her best friend made a web series reviewing episodes of The Bachelor and Bachelorette.
Kaley isn’t shy, but there is one gray area she didn’t consider. “It’s been awkward having to ask people film me,” Roberts said. Coming into BU, Kaley was excited to meet people, but she hadn’t actually met that many students at BU yet. Since the show requires the cast to film themselves through out the month Kaley had to ask her new friends to film her. Her roommate had to film her at fitrec, which definitely gained them some weird looks, but she said it was a good way to make them closer.
You can find Kaley working in COM student services or on the COMlife YouTube web series. She also likes writing poetry and singing and she plans to join the Inside Boston show this fall. Her COMlife debut is scheduled for the end of this summer so be sure to tune in! She is one of six students on the show. They range from freshman to seniors and cover the spectrum of COM majors. The episodes capture a look at COM as well as student life at BU.
