Do you gawk at every dog you pass on the street? Do you also gawk at every dog picture you see on social media? I do too. Nothing makes me happier than watching videos of dogs doing cute things or double-tapping pictures of adorable puppies.
As a dog fanatic, I have roamed the depths of Instagram and found the eight best dog accounts. Some of these accounts only have a few followers, and some are so popular that they are verified. Nevertheless, all of the accounts feature undeniably perfect dogs.
1. The Dogist

With the same style as Humans of New York, The Dogist features photographs of dogs seen mostly on the streets of New York City, but it also includes dogs from all around America and the world. The founder, Elias Friedman (who is a BU alum!), has photographed over 30,000 dogs and also wrote a New York Times Bestselling book, The Dogist. Learn more here.
2. Marnie The Dog

Marnie is a 17-year-old Shih Tzu and her owner, Shirley Braha, rescued her from a shelter in 2012, only expecting her to live for a couple months. Marnie is famous for her permanent head tilt to the left, a result of a brief instance of vestibular disease, and has met many celebrities, including Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Betty White, Demi Lovato, and Tina Fey.
3. Aussies Doing Things

As a huge fan of Australian Shepherds, this account is my favorite. It reposts people’s videos and pictures of their Aussies doing the best things – from butt wiggles to cute tricks. Whenever I see a post from this account in my Instagram feed, my day gets a little brighter.
4. Ziggi the Aussie Corgi

Ziggi is a Corgi/Mini-Aussie/Collie/Border Collie mix (aka the best breed mix on the planet). Who doesn’t love a good corgi mix? The account only has a couple of posts, but it’s still worth the follow!
5. Hot Dudes With Dogs

This account is pretty self-explanatory – it posts content of hot dudes with dogs. What more could you ask for in an Instagram account? And to be honest, sometimes the dogs are even cuter than the men!
6. Nikki the Dog

Nikki might be the most photogenic dog I’ve ever seen. In literally every photo on the account, she looks flawless.
7. The Dogist Collective

As an extension of The Dogist, Instagram users can submit their own puppy content. The account is an amalgam of pictures of dogs taken by their owners in The Dogist style and some videos. If you love The Dogist, you’re bound to love this account too! Maybe even consider sending in pictures of your own dog!
8. Moose the Mini Bully

Moose, LaurDIY’s miniature bull terrier, reaps the benefits of his mother’s success as a DIY queen/YouTuber but is also an amazingly cute dog. You don’t need to follow LaurDIY to follow her dog – she’s obsessed with him so you should be too. Although many celebrities have Instagram accounts for their dogs, Moose is different – he’s already so used to being in front of a camera.
Thank the internet for bringing dog Instagrams into our lives. All the accounts listed above are guaranteed to make you a little happier with every post. However, these are only a small fraction of all the dog Instagram accounts out there and I’m sure you’ll end up following many of them. You can try to just follow one account, but trust me, you won’t be able to hold yourself back.
