I love fall as much as the next person, but it’s hard to enjoy all of it when you’re in the middle of a city. Here are seven fall festivities that you can enjoy on-campus, or take a day to explore outside of the city.

1. Apple Picking

Apple picking is a must. Walking through the orchards on a sunny, breezy day is such a lovely experience. All of the warm fall colors are out and you are getting delicious gifts from nature as you fall in love with fall. Fresh apples and amazing memories – what else could you wish for?

2. Baking

Who said pumpkin pie was only for Thanksgiving Day? NO ONE. These mini pumpkin pies are one of my favorite fall desserts/snacks to make and enjoy. Baking is also a great way to bond with friends and family. You can find the recipe here.

3. Fall Fashion

Fashion is one of the highlights of fall. The versatility that fall fashion comes with makes life a lot simpler since there are so many options and combinations of clothing. Pairing fall clothing items together makes you look so fashion forward and put together. It is all about the layering.

4. Pumpkin Carving

Is fall even fall without pumpkins? Pumpkin carving is fun at all ages. When I think of fall, I think of my own favorite memories of carving pumpkins with my family and having contests on whose “pumpkin aesthetic” is the best. After you are done carving, you can never go wrong with baking the yummy pumpkin seeds.

5. Turkey Trot 5K Races

Some may not be fall extremists as I am, but starting your day off by dressing up like a turkey and running 3.1 miles on Thanksgiving morning is truly so fun. Get up and get out there to burn some turkey calories off before the feasting begins. (Also – show some Thanksgiving spirit while you are at it!!)

6.Cozy Days (and apple cinnamon herbal tea)

One of the best parts about fall is being able to wear an oversized sweater in bed and sip on some of your favorite tea without any regrets at all. Taking a day for yourself to relax and reflect is a huge part of self-care. Cozy days when it is starting to get cold is the perfect time for a cozy day.

7.Walking down Bay State Road

My favorite part of every morning this time of year is walking down Bay State Road. I feel like I am in a whole different world as if I am Alice in Wonderland. The warm leaves embrace me with their beauty and bring me to a state of awe. I am so lucky that I get to live in Boston and experience the fall in New England.

What are your favorite fall festivities, collegiettes?
