7 Drunchie Snacks You Won’t Regret in the A.M.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It’s Sunday morning. You roll over wishing you had an endless supply of ice-cold water to wash out the feeling we’ve come to know as a hangover. As you pull your head up from the pillow trying to piece the night together, you see it.  Sitting there on the floor of your room, the smell recognizable to any college student. The once completely full Domino’s box is now empty and you are left with one overwhelming thought, “How much of that flatbread pizza and cheesy bread did I actually eat?”

Regret—the typical hangover feeling for most college students. In order to change this feeling of shame when you wake up after a long night out, we have gathered a couple of drunchie (drunk + feel the munchies) snacks that will have you feeling good about at least one thing you did the night before!

1. Yasso Pops

Yasso Pops are the perfect guilt-free snack if you’re looking for something icy and refreshing. The brand makes a variety of delicious frozen Greek yogurt pops, including chocolate chip cookie dough, sea salt caramel, and mint chocolate chip.  At only 100-130 calories per pop, depending on the flavor, these are an awesome alternative to quench your sugar craving.

2. Gone Bananas!

Gone Bananas! is a brand that you can find at Trader Joe’s. This box of frozen, chocolate-covered banana slices is just 130 calories for four whole pieces. Get your cocoa fix with these easy, bite-sized snacks without the regret in the a.m.

3. Amy’s Burrito

If you’re looking for a more sufficient snack, but hate the feeling after eating Domino’s or Pan Roma, a healthier alternative is Amy’s Burritos. Although the burritos range from 240-320 calories depending on the flavor you choose, they are packed with protein.  Just pop them in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and you have a healthy yet satisfying snack.

4. Bowl of Puffins cereal

Sometimes there is no better comfort food than cereal. Unfortunately most cereals people go for are high in sugar and carbohydrates. A healthier alternative is Barbara’s Puffins. They come in a variety of flavors like cinnamon, peanut butter and a new pumpkin spice flavor that just came out in time for fall. These cereals are 110 calories per serving, giving you that crunch you crave without the guilt.

5. Popcorn

Popcorn is another great alternative for a late night snack. There are a number of healthy brands out there like SkinnyPop and Boom Chicka Pop, which are two great options. These brands even come in prepackaged bags to make sure you are sticking to the serving size when you indulge!

6. Arctic Zero

Arctic Zero is another healthy ice cream treat that is definitely worth tasting. What makes this brand great is that the full pint is 150 calories (translation: you can basically eat the whole thing in one sitting). With a number of flavors to choose from, there is no shame in admitting you had a full pint of ice cream to yourself.

7. Quest Bars

Quest is a top brand of protein bars that typically has around 180/190 calories per bar. With about 21 grams of protein in each stick, these are filling and healthy snacks. Not only can you eat them as bars, but thanks to the company’s Instagram account, Questcooking, you can also use them as the basis for a number of healthy recipes. For example, if you break the double chocolate chunk bar into pieces and microwave them, you get quick chocolate chip cookies that are simply protein!

The next time you find yourself stumbling into your room craving a well-deserved, post-party snack, try out one of these healthier treats and leave your regret at the door!
