5 Things I Can’t Wait to Do When Quarantine is Over

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

I’ve been back home for over a month now and in quarantine for almost all that time. I’m starting to miss a lot of activities I used to do when everything was normal. While I wait this pandemic out, I’m fantasizing about these five things I’ll be able to do once it’s all over.

Meet up with my friends and family

I haven’t seen any of my friends and I’ve hardly had any time to spend with my grandparents, aunt, and cousins! Needless to say, Zoom and other video calling apps have been an absolute blessing this whole time— without that social interaction, I would pretty much go crazy!

Go to the salon

If you too can’t wait to get your eyebrows and nails and all the other good stuff done, I feel you girl! I really, really do. I tried to take off my gel nails last week at home because, well obviously, it’s overgrown and chipping, and it was such a massive fail!

Go to the mall

Not to shop or anything — I’m just seriously craving being around people and if I do end up buying some clothes, it’s just a bonus!

Go for a drive with friends

While most of you can still do that, since my country has been on a strict lockdown for over a month now, sadly, I can’t really step out of my house for anything other than a grocery run. So, I cannot wait to just go on a drive with my friends blasting some of our favorite music and eating dessert.

Continue spending time with family

As overbearing as it can be to spend this much time with family, I really hope we continue to spend some time as a family even after everyone resumes back to normal and gets busy with work, college, and daily life!

I really hope that we’ll be able to live with this virus while we wait for a vaccine. Before we can find a temporary solution, I’ll keep daydreaming about my old, normal life!

My name is Anoushka. I am a Senior at Boston University, studying Journalism and Advertising. I am from Mumbai, India, the land of spices, culture, and colour. I love singing and basically anything that screams music. When I'm not writing or belting the notes to my favourite Adele song, I enjoy trying new foods (cooking and eating, of course), travelling around the globe, and looking for new ingredients to add to my superfood stash.
