What You Need to Hear About Getting Over a Guy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

There’s always that one guy, the guy that completely captures your attention. The guy you become totally infatuated with- but it’s just that, an infatuation. You fall for the idea of him. And it’s not that you like him (or her) for the person they are, you’ve just convinced yourself that they are perfect for you. Because chances are, they are an awful person and you can do a million times better. But you have become so enthralled with who you think they are that you’re blinded by assumptions. So what do you do? You try to forget them and nothing seems to work. But then you realize “hey, he’s an ignorant SOAB” and then he slowly slips through your fingers, and you get over him. Even though he’s the one person that single handedly caused you to question logic and make your emotions go awry. Just when you’re getting over him, he’ll seem to realize what he lost. It’s then that you have to avoid temptation and move on, because you can do better, and you will do better. You should have someone that appreciates you. They need to know how amazing you are from the start. #RETWEET
