Due to the recent sexual assault here at Bryant, Her Campus wants to make sure that all of the women on this campus know who they can go to or talk to about sexual assault or physical abuse. This is not a situation to take lightly- although Bryant University has made no effort to make us feel extra safe on this campus. Here is what Her Campus has to say about who you can talk to in the time of need, and why it is okay to get help from these people.

.Health Services. This might sound like a place to go if you are sick, which is true, but they are also a resource for other things. The women who work in Health Services are extremely knowledgeable and take what you have to say seriously. They have chosen to work at Bryant because they enjoy helping young adults in a time of need, and sexual assault is something these ladies have seen before.

.Hochberg Women’s Center. Although Bryant has recently lost Toby Simon, who was a beloved professor and incredible director of the Women’s Center, the Women’s Center is still a great resource to go to if you need someone to talk to. The office is run by women for women in a time of need. Also, if you reached out to Toby herself she would never turn you away. That is how invested she is in Bryant’s student body.

.Department of Public Safety. Although DPS isn’t our biggest fan on Friday nights, they still dedicate their lives to protecting our student body. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to a man, there are women DPS officers who would be more than happy to help (Ask for Jenna). They are not always out to get us, and they most certainly wouldn’t take a sexual assault lightly.

.Counseling Services. Bryant has amazing people working in their counseling department. They actually specialize in sexual assault, and are a great resource to use. All conversations are kept confidential if you would rather it be kept private.

.Professor or boss. Her Campus also believes that any boss you have worked for, or professor you have had, knows you well here at Bryant. We are a small community where the professors really take their time to get to know their students. They are most likely parents, and have a lot of life experience as well. If you feel as though you can trust them, they can be your best friend in a time of need.

.Any Her Campus Member. If you don’t feel like talking to any of the people mentioned above, we are always here as friends who are ready to listen. We are all women and we need to stick together in times like this. We take sexual assault very seriously and would take necessary measures to get you the help you need!
