Mix-and-Match Wardrobes for In-Between Seasons

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Spring is in full bloom, but what a crazy spring it’s been! In the past couple of weeks the temperature has ranged from lows in the teens to highs in the 80s, often with less than 24 hours in between! Going to school in Rhode Island means that most of us are pretty seasoned at dressing for changing weather (no pun intended), but this year’s bi-polar temperatures has even us here at HC Bryant scrambling for new ways to get creative with our wardrobes.

But don’t fret fashionistas; it is still possible to look stylish and trendy in some HC Bryant-approved outfits on a daily basis. You can still have fun with your clothes by mixing pieces from your winter wardrobe with some warm-weather pieces.

For those slightly chilly days… throw on a blazer in a bright, fun color such as neon pink or tangerine. A pair of regular jeans paired with cute flats will do this outfit justice, however, if you are feeling bold and creative you can color block your colored blazer with colored denim!

Another option is to pair tights with tailored shorts for a clean and sleek look. Mint green is a popular color to try for spring, so for an uber trendy look, try high-waisted tailored shorts with a mint-green sweater and some chunky gold jewelry to contrast the clean, sleek look of your shorts.

A hi-lo skirt pastel-colored skirt is another spring trend in full bloom this season. Wear a pastel-colored skirt and tuck it in with a tank top, and wear a denim jacket, leather biker jacket or a fur vest for warmth.

Wear one of your summer day dresses and throw a denim jacket or fur vest over it for added warmth. You can pair this with plain transparent black or burgundy tights and wedges, booties, flats, or cowboy boots!

And last but not least…ADD A POP OF COLOR AND ACCESSORIZE! Jazz up simple outfits with colored scarves or colored denim for a pop of color and chunky statement jewelry. A pair of cute flats or colorful wedges will upgrade your outfit and give the added comfort you need while walking to classes and meetings during your busy day!
