Over the past year, Bryant University’s food service contract has come to an end with current provider, Sodexo. In the month of December, four national companies went before Bryant University with a proposal to create a contract. The four companies included, Sodexo, Aramark, Chartwells, and Bon Appetite.

With the assistance of an outside food service consultant, each proposal went under review. The companies were evaluated on technical response on food service and management, as well as cost.

On March 18th, Bryant President, Ron Machtley, announced after completing the evaluations, Aramark will be the upcoming food service provider. After graduation, the contract will go into effect.

After 12 years, Bryant must now say goodbye to Sodexo and all their hardworking employees.

In addition, Salmanson Dining Hall will be going under construction over the summer.

As much as we will all miss chicken patty Tuesdays, taco Thursdays, chicken nugget Fridays, and all the meals we reluctantly eat in between, we look forward to seeing what Aramark will cook up for us. After all, their mission statement is “to enrich and nourish lives”, so we can only hope for the best.
