3 Tips to Stay Safe Thanksgiving Eve

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Heading back home for one of the first times since you have been at school for Thanksgiving is an amazing feeling.  We get a few days off from school, you get to eat your favorite homemade food instead of Salmo, and you get to be reunited with high school friends you haven’t seen in a few months.  The night before Thanksgiving is a big party night, everyone is out at bars or having friends over in hopes to see everyone they have been missing at school.  While there really is nothing better than Thanksgiving Eve festivities with the people you’ve known forever, make sure you stay safe this year!

  1. Sometimes it can be exciting and overwhelming to be back with all your friends so you might get carried away with how much you drink.  Maybe it’s the excitement or that old flame that will not stop buying you drinks at the bar, but resist! Monitor how much you’re drinking to ensure you stay safe!

  2. If you’re partying at a friend’s house, it’s probably a good idea to stay there.

  3. If staying over isn’t in the cards or you are bar hopping for the night, have a designated driver.  Do not drink and drive!  See if a brother or sister, your mom or dad, or any friend that doesn’t mind staying sober for the night will do it. Drunk driving accidents are something so avoidable that happen all the time, don’t let a fun week be ruined by something so careless.
