  • India Point Park

Take in the brisk weather and fall foliage from this beautiful park! India Point Park is the ideal place to spend long fall afternoons. This location is perfect for absorbing the New England Fall, from going on long walks along the waterfront to sitting on a bench and sipping on a cup of coffee or apple cider from the nearby cafés. Pictures here are amazing at any time of the day, but if you go near sunset, you might get some incredibly colorful shots!

  • Swan Point Cemetery

If you want to both marvel at the fall leaves and lean into the creepier side of fall, Swan Point Cemetery is the place for you! While walking along old gravestones may seem spooky at first, it actually makes for a very serene activity. Established in 1846 on a 60-acre plot of land, this historic cemetery is booming with beautiful nature. Even if Halloween is over, it is a nice spot to escape life’s trials.

  • Pumpkin/Apple Picking!

What says “fall” more than pumpkin and apples?! Get lost in a field of pumpkins/apples with your friends, take scenic photos, and collect yummy goodies from local farms. The best part of this activity is that once you get home, you can work on baking some pumpkin/apple pies and enjoy the rewards of your trip for the days to come.

Another activity to do if you feel like Halloween needs to provide more spooky endeavors! The Providence Ghost Tours will reveal the dark side of the city. The guides will take you through Providence by lantern light and reveal the “tales that keep college students at Brown University and RISD jumping out of their beds at night,” according to their website.

  • Spectacular at the Roger Williams Park Zoo

You’re never too old to visit the zoo–especially the Roger Williams Park Zoo, which lights up several times during the fall. Through all of October, they host the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, which displays thousands of elaborately-carved pumpkins. Even if you missed this event, which ended on October 31st, you could look forward to the Holiday Lights Spectacular, which will start on October 25th and run into the winter!
