Listen up, HC Readers! Your student ID or .edu email is a HUGE asset. If you’re anything like me and a total shopaholic, your student status can provide access to a ton of huge discounts with shopping, entertainment, technology, and more! Here are my top student discounts and how to make the most of them:

Spotify and Hulu

Spotify Premium offers a deal to students that includes Spotify Premium and Hulu for just $6 a month. For non-students, the total for these subscription services is a whopping $18. Hulu also offers an independent deal that gives students to Hulu for just $2 a month.

Amazon Prime Student

As I’m sure you know, Amazon Prime is a HUGE lifesaver, but it is also a little bit on the pricey side. As a student, you can get Amazon Prime free for 6 months. Then, the price of Prime goes to $69 a year which is half the cost of a normal prime subscription.

Chegg

Chegg can be a massive help with homework and exams, but it isn’t cheap! Through the site Student Beans, you can get 25% of your first month of Chegg.

Alo Moves

Alo Moves is an amazing site offering thousands of at home workouts, ranging from cardio to pilates to dance. Alo Moves offers students a two week free trial and a subscription costs $13 a month after that.

Newspapers

Several newspapers also offer student discounts! The Atlantic is $45 per year, the New York Times is $6 a month, the Washington Post is $1 a month, the Wall Street Journal is $4 a month.

Apple

Apple is discounting many of its most popular products for students! Students can get Macbooks and iPads for $100 and $50 off respectively, and qualifying buyers receive a $150 gift card, 20% off on Apple Care, and one month free of Apple Music and Apple TV.

Target

Students can get 20% off at Target if they join the Target Circle program.

Restaurants

A variety of fast food restaurants also have student discounts. Dunkin’ Donuts offers 10% off for students at participating locations. Chick-fil-a gives students a free drink with any purchase. Chipotle offers a free drink with a meal. Doordash offers students a Dash Pass for $5 a month.

Pottery Barn

Pottery Barn is the ultimate destination for dorm room decor, and the store offers students at 15% discount.

I am a member of the Brown Class of 2026, and I am planning to concentrate in history and economics. In my free time, I enjoy reading historical fiction novels, baking chocolate chip cookies, and trying new restaurants and cafes in Providence.
