Her Campus: What attracted you to Brandeis University?Nate Taber: I wanted to stay in the Boston area. I’m the type of person who likes to stay around home, so that’s what originally drew me to Brandeis. It wasn’t necessarily my top choice, but now that I’m here I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.Â
HC: What activities are you involved in on campus?NT: I’m a member of the Brandeis club soccer team where I’m on the Administrative Board that decides on practice schedules and other activities, and I work in the Office of Student Enrollment. I’m also participating in the Asian Student Association fashion show in March.
HC: What is your goal for the new semester?NT: I want to start playing music more. I know how to play guitar and I’m currently learning how to play banjo. I also want to stop neglecting picking out my classes.
HC: What events are you looking forward to the most this spring?NT: I’d definitely say moving back outside for soccer because I definitely don’t love playing indoors. I’m also really excited for Spring Fest and to see who Brandeis brings in this year.
HC: What is one of your most embarrassing moments of freshman year?NT: I lived in the basement of Shapiro last year, and there was this one time I was sitting at my desk watching TV or doing homework when I saw a bug—it was one of those horrifying giant centipedes and I went on a half hour hunt for it. I saw it scurrying across the floor and I knew I had to terminate it, which I eventually did.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?NT: Right now, I want to be a chiropractor, so after leaving Brandeis I want to go to chiropractic school and then open up my own office. I see myself staying in the New England/East coast area.
