Indulge In Fall at Lizzy’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

Although the weather is starting to get cooler, it does not stop people from eating ice cream. Every night the weather could be 50 degrees but at one of the most popular places in Waltham for ice cream Lizzy’s, the line is always out the door and around the street. For those of you who haven’t been to Lizzys, it is a local, family-owned franchise that makes their own ice cream downstairs!

With over a variety flavors from sherbet to frozen yogurt to tofutti, it is hard to not find a flavor that you like. They have classic flavors such as chocolate and vanilla to more creative and specialty flavors such as Charles River Crunch and Chocolate Orgy.

Since everyone is getting into the fall spirit, Lizzys is also celebrating autumn with fall themed flavors. A new flavor to celebrate the brisk weather is the Pumpkin Pie. The ice cream has an orange tint with actual homemade pumpkin pie pieces in it!  I am not a fan of pumpkin, but this ice cream has certainly changed my mind to the point where I am now buying pumpkin flavored products at Hannaford’s. Just released in stores about a month ago, this flavor will not last long considering the season is almost half-way done.

Soon, Lizzy’s will be adding another flavor to their bountiful list to celebrate the season, Apple Pie. The exact premier date of this flavor is still unknown, but the Lizzy’s facebook page says that it will be coming soon.

Lizzy’s is located on 367 Moody Street here in Waltham. It is relatively close to campus and only a 20 minute walk from campus. You could also take the BranVan which drops you off right in front of the shop. The store is open from 12:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. Sundays through Thursdays and 12:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M. Fridays and Saturdays. So, if you are in the mood for some fall festive ice cream, get it soon while these delicious flavors are still in season!
