Entering spring can be a refresher from a winter funk. The bright sun and smell of blooming flowers can make someone feel light and new. You can ride that feeling all through spring and into summer by adding these fun activities to do on nice days!
Go for walks
Walking can be a great way of exercising without overexerting your body. It has been known to release endorphins – a chemical in your body that stimulates relaxation. It can help reduce stress and increase your mood without all the heavy breathing and sweating running causes!
Ride a Bike
Riding a bike can be another great form of exercise without being too much! It’ll allow you to go at your own pace, fast or slow, and enjoy the outdoors. Take your bike down the street, through a park or trail or even throughout your town! Blast your music in some headphones while you’re riding and feel the wind in your face. Not only is it relaxing and fun, but you can finally live your main character in an indie movie moment!
Discover New places
If you’re like me and from a small town that doesn’t have many activities to do, venture out! Research cost-efficient places to visit like a museum, butterfly house or park! Make it routine to visit and find a new home away from home. Bring some friends or your partner and make it a new spot to hang out at. It can be great to discover a new place and experience it on your own or with others while the weather is nice.
Find your new coffee spot
Coffee makes the world go-’round for most college students and sometimes going to Starbucks can be redundant or costly. Go out in your town and find a local coffee shop people may not know of! Not only are you supporting a local business but you can also make it your own! Try something new while you’re there, write, watch a movie or listen to music while you’re sipping on your latte! Romanticize your life a little bit!
Journal
Journaling can be a fantastic way of relieving stress or getting your thoughts out. You can take a little bit of time every day to sit outside and write whatever you want! You can use it for manifestations, recounting events that happened throughout your day, tracking your emotions, or even rating movies and shows! You can also put pictures with blurbs within your journal to document good memories you’ve had throughout the year! Though writing can be a chore sometimes, once you get into the habit of it, you can really find comfort in such a small thing!
Pick up a book
Reading can help you settle down after a long day. Go to your local library or bookstore and find a book that interests you! Read it outside and let yourself immerse into the world the author has created! You may find a new love or hobby within reading.
have a Picnic
Have a picnic date by yourself or with others at a park. Pack some snacks, drinks, and a blanket to sit on. You can even bring a book or a canvas with paints to do while you bask in the nice weather! Picnics can be a great way to get some fresh air and enjoy your hobbies.
