Campus Cutie, Samantha Vega: Going with the Flow… Literally!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Boise State chapter.

Quick Facts

Year: Junior.

Major: Geoscience, emphasis in Hydrology.

Relationship status: In a relationship.

Hometown: Sacramento, CA.

Her Campus Boise State: So, I see you’re majoring in Geosciences. How did you become interested in that?

Samantha Vega: I have always been really conscious about the earth and always knew I wanted to do something for the environment. I don’t want to be in a cubicle all day– I want to travel and work outside.

HC: That’s awesome! Why did you decide to emphasize in Hydrology?

SV: Because I feel water is something that is essential. There is always going to be a demand for it. Water is hugely important and necessary for our survival.

HC: After you graduate, what do you plan on doing with your degree?

SV: Hopefully getting a job, but it kind of depends on what kind of jobs come my way. There are a lot of different jobs to do with hydrology. Ideally, I’d like to do something with Costal Geomorphology.

HC: Ooh… and what is Costal Geomorphology exactly? ;)

SV: It’s basically studying sea cliff erosion and how it develops over time. Or, studying sea cliffs and their stability, and the role of human interaction in their continued stability.

HC:You seem very adventurous! What’s one thing on your bucket list you are dying to do?

SV: Backpack through Europe!

HC: That would definitely be a memorable thing to do! What parts of Europe are you dying to see?

SV: I’d like to go to France or Germany. Oktoberfest would be fun!

HC: Oh, definitely! So tell us: what’s the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?

SV: Hands down, ziplining in Costa Rica.

HC: That’s awesome! Okay, next question: if you had super powers, what would you have?

SV: I’d either want to be super stretchy or to be able to fly

HC: Super stretchy, you say… how come?

SV: Because it would be fun to go to a yoga class and see people’s reactions! I’m short, so it would be nice to be able to reach things on the top shelf for once! Lol.

HC: Okay, get ready for…

Lightening round!

HC: Chocolate or sour candy?

SV: Chocolate.

HC: Pepsi or coke?

SV: Pepsi!

HC: Comedy or romantic movie?

SV: That’s a hard one! I’m gonna have to go with romantic; I like a good love story!

HC: Wizards or vampires?

SV: Wizzzzzards!

HC: Country music or rap?

SV: Country when it’s sunny and rap when I’m getting YOKED!

HC: Keep getting yoked girl! Thanks for talking with us, Sam!
