1. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm

Spring is all about looking AND feeling fresh!  These lip stains from Revlon are perfect for fresh, natural lips that feel just as good as they look. The chubby, crayon shaped lip stain is infused with a moisturizing balm to leave your lips feeling healthy and pretty. As a plus, the retractable crayon makes for a quick and easy application. The best part? These babies come in the season’s hottest shades, including matte orange and berry tones.

2. Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

If we’re talking beauty essentials, facial cleanser is an absolute must. We suggest trying Biore’s charcoal cleanser. This face-wash penetrates deeply into your pores to purify your skin twice as well as other cleansers. Contrary to what you might think when using a charcoal-based product, the texture of this cleanser is gel-like and smooth with beads of charcoal dispersed throughout. HC Boise State tried the product ourselves and were pleased to experience a cooling, tingly sensation (that must mean something is working, right?) and softer, smoother skin after just one use!

3. Ciaté Flower Manicure

What better way to enjoy spring’s blooming flowers than to wear them as an accessory?  Ciaté’s new floral manicure sets allow you to create beautiful nail designs using natural flowers.  Each set contains one small pot of polish, two pots of multi-colored flowers, a base coat to help seal in your designs, and a pair of tweezers along with a nail file for easy application. Ciaté offers two different kits: “Bada Boom,” which includes a pastel blue polish with red and blue flowers, and “Strike a Posey,” which includes a pink polish with blue and yellow flowers.

The Hair Doctor

Irish Moss Powder is one of the main ingredients in The Hair Doctor.

For all of you beauty gurus at Boise State, you’ve probably already been happily informed that Lush is finally coming to the Boise area! In recent years, Lush is a brand that has grown in popularity for its fresh, handmade, and organic cosmetics. In fact, some of their products, such as The Hair Doctor, are so fresh that they need to be kept in the fridge (crazy, right?). The Hair Doctor is a perfect at-home treatment to replenish your hair from all the damage caused in 2013. Ingredients such as Irish Moss Powder and sweet almond oil are infused to help soften your hair and skin, while peppermint oil provides a refreshing, tingling treat for your scalp.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal

This year, designer Marc Jacobs and make-up artist François Nars collaborated for Spring Fashion Week. Gracing the runway was an unexpected new trend: blue eyeliner with an inner-corner cat eye. Nars created the look by using blue eyeliner pencils.  Although we all wish we could afford to spend $20 on a Nars eyeliner pencil (preferably in the turquoise blue shade called “Kitty,” please!) the truth of the matter is that we’re on a college budget here. Instead, try Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal in “Electric Blue”.  Moisten a fine-tipped, angled brush and dip it into the powder; carefully line your bottom lashes, then your inner corners with a triangular shape. This combination will give you intense, runway-worthy eyes at a fraction of the cost! We like the sound of that.
