HerCampus: How would you describe your overall style?
Kaitlyn Broomall: I would say that it’s very girly. I love fall fashion and wearing leggings and sweaters. Sometimes it’s fun to add a little bit of an edgy look to things though.
HC: What is one essential piece of your wardrobe that you can’t live without?
KB: Leggings! I wear them with everything and they look good with any style. No matter the color or if you’re going for comfy casual or even classy, they work!
HC: Do you prefer to accessorize in gold, silver, or with colors?
KB: Gold. I think I may be the only person who still wears all gold jewelry, but it just goes better with my complexion than silver.
HC: What color are you most likely to be spotted wearing?
KB: Black and white are mainly what I wear, but I’m also a fan of blue and dark green. Typically on campus I have all neutral colors on though since they are fashionable, but I still blend in with the crowd.
HC: Currently, what is your favorite winter trend in fashion?
KB: Scarves. Huge, knitted, over the top scarves. Personally I always feel like they are way to big on me, but then I see them on other people and I always think they look super cute.
HC: What is your least favorite trend in fashion right now?
KB: I don’t really have a trend that I don’t like. I’m pretty open to what people like to wear, but I’m not a fan of those hugeeeee chunky bubble necklaces. I like bubble necklaces that add to the outfit, not ones that are the outfit.
HC: What are some of your favorite places to shop?
KB: I don’t usually pay attention to brands. I get most of my clothes from TJMaxx or Forever 21, but I find things almost everywhere. If I see something I like, I have to get it or else I regret it for weeks.
HC: Whom would you consider your style icon?
KB: I like Lauren Conrad a lot. She is very classic with a twist of the popular style.
HC: Does your outfit choice ever affect your mood? If so, why?
KB: YES! I don’t like dressing down to class. If I don’t like my outfit… Watch out.
HC: What advice could you give young women about dressing in style?
KB: I would say that you need to wear what you feel confident in and you need to be proud of your personal style.
