How to Turn Your Summer Looks into Fall Favorites

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

Nothing is more disheartening than having to put your favorite summer wardrobe staples away and make room for bulky coats and fur-lined boots. But luckily, with a few additions you can keep those summer styles going long into the chillier part of the year.

1. Scarves

You can turn any summer outfit into a fall style by adding a few scarves to your wardrobe. Blanket scarves and infinity scarves are a great option because they can be light enough to not have you sweating if the weather takes another turn toward the worst (aka anything above 70 degrees.) Collecting two or three in neutral colors will go a long way when adding them to any outfit.

2. Booties

It’s time to trade in the sandals and wedges for a more weather-appropriate option and what better choice than booties? They’re great because they can dress up sun dresses and short outfits but still aren’t super winter-y looking.

3. Hats

Another great option to make your summer outfits more fall-oriented is hats. Throw on a wide brimmed hat or a beanie before class and it wave goodbye to the torture that is bad hair days while still looking cute and put-together.

By throwing one or more of these looks together on any given day you’ll definitely be getting your wear out of your favorite summer pieces long into the chillier season!
