How to Transition Your Wardrobe From Summer to Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

As the temperatures drop, we tend to want to hold onto our summer wardrobe. However, the fact of the matter is that if we continue to wear our high-waisted shorts and sheer kimonos throughout the cold seasons coming up, we may end up with frostbite.  As we all know, Bloomsburg can get really cold and there are just a few things you can do to help transition your summer wardrobe into fall and save you a few dollars in the process.

Invest in a fierce jacket. While I am a fan of the leather variety, you may start to see that the ever so popular jacket of the 90’s is once again upon us: the jean jacket.  If you have a jacket that goes with nearly everything, you can make use of all of your summer tops and tanks by layering.

Pick up some tights. You can easily repurpose all of your summer shorts by purchasing tights and wearing them with boots. Not only is this adorable, but it is also practical and can help switch up your outfits so you don’t get tired of leggings and sweaters.

Purchase a pair of boots/booties.Not only are boots most practical for the changing temperatures, but it also helps us walk around campus in the unpredictable fall weather. Plus, let’s face it boots make every outfit look a little cooler.

Cardigans, cardigans, cardigans.I am a huge fan of cardigans and I swear I have one in every color because they are amazing for layering and changing up any look. You can easily throw one over a summery dress and instantly have a fall outfit.

‘Tis the season to wear scarves. We’re all guilty of it. Take a plain outfit and throw a scarf on it and you suddenly look super cozy, chic and comfortable as well as ready to take on the fall temperatures with a pumpkin spice drink of any kind in hand.
