How to Decorate Your Dorm with Holiday Cheer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Holiday season is quickly approaching and what better way to get in the spirit than decorating your living space?  The holiday season is the perfect time to decorate because there are so many cute room décor and DIY projects that it gets hard to choose from! If you’re looking for ideas on how to decorate your room or apartment, hopefully these ideas will bring some holiday spirit to your home away from home.

Miniature Christmas treeThese pint sized replicas of our favorite Christmas trees are perfect for small dorm rooms or apartments! Let’s face it, we don’t have a lot of space so we have to make do with what we got. Mini Christmas trees are the perfect way to give your space a little holiday cheer minus the hassle. Decorate the tree with cute ornaments and lights to really give it that holiday feel.

Felt stockingsDIY felt stockings are a cute and easy way to quickly add some holiday cheer to your space! Creating and decorating the stockings can be a cute way for you and your roommates to spend some time together.

Scented candlesEven though this is not a decoration tip, scented candles can create the holiday atmosphere with the right scent.  Pumpkin Spice and Cinnamon scented candles smell so delicious that it’s hard not to think of all the delicious amounts of food you may be consuming over winter break!

LightsRemember being little and being fascinated with the lights your parents put on the outside of the house? These same lights you can bring inside and create a cozy atmosphere! String them around a door frame or hang them across your room! Just keep in mind to always turn the lights off when you’re not there.

Hopefully these ideas were helpful and enough to get you thinking of some ways to decorate your humble abode for the upcoming months!
