After over a year of taking classes on Zoom, the idea of returning to in-person learning can be daunting. From in-person exams to collaborating with classmates in groups, to sitting through lectures in a classroom, our “new normal” feels anything but what we are used to. Here are some tips for how to have a successful semester despite the challenging transition.
- Get enough sleep
- Keep a planner (and write assignments in a day to day format)
- Set a solid routine
- Don’t procrastinate
- Study in groups! Find friends who you can work with.
- Study outside of bedroom (in the library or student center) to avoid distraction
- Take detailed notes during lectures
- Be engaged in your classes, ask questions and go to your professor’s office hours
- Make an outline from the class power point slides to aid with studying
