Be #paratus for freshman year.

1. Don’t bring your GB 212 book to class unless you want to break your back and legs! Save the weights for the gym.

2. Get to know Gloria Larson!

3. If you get busted by an RA for your shenanigans, remember to be nice and understand that they’re just doing their job. The RAs don’t actually want to get you into trouble, but if you’re sassy, there will be trouble.

4. Be considerate of your neighbors!

5. Join as many clubs as you want to. You can go to their general body meetings and then stick with the ones that you really want to be a part of.

6. Don’t spend all your discresh right away. You’ll want to save some for Late Night and Einstein’s before finals.

7. If you want to look for some cuties, the best places are outside the library between classes and Seasons (The 921) during dinner rush.

8. Use extreme caution going up the Adamian stairs in the winter. You will eat sh*t—but then again, so will everyone else.

9. If you have problems with your roommate, don’t just ignore them. They won’t go away unless you talk it out and find a solution.

10. Going out every weekend can be fun, but don’t be afraid to spend some nights in with the girls every once in a while!

11. Make sure that you leave campus every now and again to explore Boston and eat some real food.

12. Go cheer on Bentley at sporting events!

13. Take advantage of the discounted professional sports tickets that we get as Bentley students.

14. Don’t be too cliquey with the first friends you meet! Stay open minded. You may make your new best friend when you least expect it.

15. Remember that it’s totally okay if your current best friends aren’t your best friends later on. Things change, and that’s okay!

16. Don’t wear heels in the winter. Falling on your butt in front of everyone on the Smith stairs is definitely not worth it.

17. Speak up in class and get to know your professor during office hours from the very beginning of the year. Not only is it awesome when you need extra help, but it may even give your grades a little extra boost!

18. Before you decide to get with that really cute kid at the party, remember that Bentley is not a huge school. You will definitely see the person again, especially if he/she lives in your building.

19. Buying textbooks online is much cheaper than buying books from the bookstore.

20. Three quick rules about going to frat parties: don’t wear white, don’t wear clothes that you don’t want to ruin, and buy shoes specifically for those parties (they will get disgusting and trashed, trust me).

21. If you’re going to Seasons (The 921) after a darty, try to keep it a little classy.

22. Remember that it’s okay to eat alone at Seasons (The 921) if your friends are busy. It might feel weird, but everyone’s done it!

23. Leave your door open in the beginning of the year so that people can pop by and get to know you.

24. Try to keep your GPA as high as you can freshman year, because classes will only get harder. It’ll be nice to have some cushion.

25. Boys, make friends with girls! Not only are they awesome, but there are perks to hanging with them (especially when trying to get into parties).

26. Don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to major in yet. You don’t have to pick now– you have plenty of time.

27. You have four whole years of college ahead of you. Live it up and have the time of your life!
