Some of the most influential people in my life have been the women in my life. From their support and care to their badass attitudes, these women have helped me become the person I am today!

1. My mom

My mom is my #1 fan. She is the person I go to whenever I have a problem or whenever I have something to be proud of. Whether I want to celebrate a good test grade, need to rant, or need a shoulder to cry on, I can always count on her to be there for me. Even though we butt heads sometimes, I know at the end of the day she’ll always be my best friend.

2. My aunts

My aunts shaped me as a child! They always used to babysit me and take me out to go shopping or visit cool places. They would also torture my parents by telling me embarrassing stories about them. I owe a lot of my funniest childhood memories to my aunts!

3. My cousins

Since I only have an older brother, I bonded a lot when I was younger with my female cousins! We would have fashion shows, share our favorite books and TV shows, and gossip about our other family members. We would cause so much chaos at family gatherings. The bond between cousins really is something special!

4. My childhood best friends

My childhood best friends are some of the closest people in my life. I am guaranteed to laugh until my belly hurts whenever I am with them. These friends have watched me grow from the girl who would wear neon pink leggings with Uggs and off-the-shoulder tops to the college student I am now (embarrassing – I know). I have shared a lifetime of memories with these friends and they’re the people I can go back to time and time again because of the bond we have built over the years.

5. My dance friends

I danced for twelve years at a dance studio in my hometown. Because of this, I became extremely close with the other girls who danced there. Seeing them every week and bonding over shared routines, costumes, and inside jokes made us great friends on and off the dance floor, just like any other team.

6. My teachers

My teachers have had a huge impact on who I have grown up to be. Most of my teachers growing up were female and because of this, they were incredibly caring and nurturing and always made me feel at home when we were in the classroom. I always felt comfortable to step outside of the box and push myself to try something new. Because of this, I always loved going to school and grew up to be a great student who loved to learn!

7. My suitemates

My suitemates at college have been my rock since the beginning of the semester. As I have struggled with personal issues, they have been by my side through every step (and step back) of the way. From every crying session to every take-out night, we’ve made so many memories in our suite that we had separation anxiety when we left for Thanksgiving break! I can’t wait for another semester of memories to come!

8. My college besties

My college besties have also been a huge part of my life this semester. They have made up the majority of my support system as I have been struggling mentally, emotionally, and physically. Through these personal struggles, we have managed to grow even closer and I feel like I can confide in them with anything. I am so thankful that Bentley brought me and these people together.

9. The Women’s Leadership Program Members

I am so thankful to be a part of the Women’s Leadership Program at Bentley! It is so inspiring to be surrounded by so many other powerful and ambitious women. The workshops we participate in do such a thoughtful job of advocating for feminism and female empowerment in the classroom and the workplace. Being part of such a great program pushes me to be the best version of myself possible!

10. The HerCampus E-Board!

Finally, I look up to my fellow E-Board members on HerCampus’ E-Board! It is so inspiring to work with a group of ladies so dedicated to furthering creativity at a business school. I love seeing all that we can accomplish when we work as a team, and I love our commitment to providing a place for women to publish their work at Bentley!
