Why did you choose Belmont?
I wanted a Christian school that offered music therapy, which severely limited my options. One day I Googled “Christian schools with a music therapy program” and Belmont was at the top of the results list. I went on a campus visit a few months later and fell in love!
What’re your career goals?
After I graduate I hope to either work in hospice or at a hospital, specifically in a NICU. I’d also like to get my double masters in music therapy and mental health counseling so that I can become a licensed mental health counselor.
Favorite place to go in Nashville?
Either White Bison in the Nations or the Humane Society.
Do you have any hobbies?
I like to read, watch Netflix, take naps, write, teach myself new instruments, and drink coffee!
What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Belmont?
My favorite class was definitely Clinical Techniques! It was a class for my major, and we learned multiple instruments and how to apply them to a music therapy session and different activities we could do with clients such as dancing and sing-alongs.

This is such a hard question for me because I really love quotes, but I recently read one by Mary Pipher that struck a chord with me: “Satisfying lives are about much more than the absence of tragedy. They are about appreciating what we have.”

What would you say to someone considering joining the HC team?
HC Belmont has been such a fun experience! I joined having no writing or editing experience and have learned so much. All the girls who are members are so sweet and welcoming. This community has been so great to be a part of, and I strongly recommend reaching out to any member of our team if you have questions or would like to join!
