5 Things You Need to be Organized This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Belmont chapter.

With the start of a new year comes the start of a new semester.  Here at HC Belmont, we want to make sure you’re ready to tackle this new year and make it your best one yet.  Here are the 5 things you need to stay organized in 2017.

1. The LifePlanner

Yeah, sure, a paper calendar might seem a little old-fashioned.Trust me, though…after a week of using the LifePlanner, you’ll be wondering how you survived before. There’s something so satisfying about color-coding your planner by class and actually writing down your work schedule. Plus, it comes in so many styles and colors that everyone can find one that fits their aesthetic.

2. Pilot G2 Pens

Maybe I’m a little bit of a stationery freak, but when I find a good pen, I freak out.I’ve been using these babies since 7th grade, and can’t see myself straying away anytime soon.Plus they have HUGE packs that have every color you can dream of and when you write with them, it’s like writing on a cloud.I swear.

3. Mint.com

There’s never an ideal time to take over your finances, but once you do it, life will be so much better. Mint lets you see what you’re spending most of your money on, gives you options for investing, and makes you a more aware person in general. Maybe it’ll persuade you to buy fewer cups of coffee so you can buy concert tickets for once, or you won’t be pinching pennies for groceries at the end of the month. It’s free, so you have no excuse not to give it a try!

4. A Killer Bag

This bag is what dreams are made of.  If you have a job or internship, this is honestly a must have…think of it as a more stylish version of a briefcase.  The center compartment fits my laptop perfectly, the zipped compartments have enough room for files, my wallet, and my must-have makeup, and the shoulder strap is detachable.

5. Determination and Resilience

Okay, so these can’t be bought, but they’re just as important.  If you go into this new year determined to make it your best yet, it’s going to happen.  Learn to bounce back, learn to persevere when things get tough, and show 2016 that you are so much better without it.  You’ve got this, collegiates!

Her loves include Taylor Swift, baking, watercolor painting, and attending every concert within a thirty mile radius.
Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Sarah came to Belmont as a member of the class of 2019. Sarah joined the Her Campus Belmont team as a chapter contributor her sophomore year and took over as President just a few months later. While you'll find her studying corporate communications and theatre during school, in her free time she enjoys hot yoga, bingeing Game of Thrones, and working to make her chapter the absolute best it can be.
