If you’re reading this article, then you’re probably doing what I do best: not doing your homework. Or you just follow up-to-date Her Campus BC articles like it’s your job.
Either way, the internet has given both of us a means to blow off researching for our papers and electronically discover new and exciting things. I’ve made a list of some of my favorite websites to pass the time, although I’m sure you have a solid list of bookmarked sites yourself…
StumbleUpon
Freshman year was never the same once I discovered StumbleUpon. It’s just like it sounds— you “stumble” upon websites that StumbleUpon picks for you, depending on your pre-chosen interests. You can stumble onto every sort of website imaginable, especially with the variety of categories to choose your interests from. If you get bored, just click the “stumble” button in the top left hand corner, and it brings you to a new website. Just to show how fun it is, I just stumbled two seconds ago and came upon this gem. Did you know that 40% of college students know someone who has slept with a professor or a teaching assistant? Damn. I guess that’s why everybody is getting A’s except me.

Fellow collegiette™ Molly Moltzen showed me this one, and I was instantly obsessed. Imgfave is a website full of pictures. Pictures after pictures after pictures. “What kinds of pictures?” you may be asking. Any picture you could ever think of. All you do is scroll down the screen and view pictures that people have posted. Sometimes they are landscape photos taken at sunset. Other times, they are runway shots of designer gowns. There are inspirational quotes (oh heyy Johnny Depp), hot guys drinking water, or pictures of food (YES). There are even collections of pictures about one topic that you can flip through. I’ve even started a little folder on my computer for all of the cool images I’ve found on Imgfave!

I could not count the number of times I have burst out laughing in the middle of a lecture from reading QuickMemes. This website has tons of themed pictures with each theme having a funny saying or phrase. They’re kind of like fake blogs— one really great one is Socially Awkward Penguin (which I’m sure many of you have heard of). Here is one of my favorites. It’s probably not okay that I can relate to a lot of posts from socially awkward penguin… Some other really good ones are Annoying Facebook Girl, Scumbag Steve, and Philosoraptor.
